Lol.....in the US the cars are left hand drive but, there right hand drive in the Uk.....so you both ran the cable down the same side which makes good sense as the left side of the car has the main loom and battery.

I knew that. . . ::) i was only stating. . . i would like to drive on the left-side of the road more often but the tickets get expensive. . . maybe one of the members would let me take out their car if i ever ended up there. . . as you'll could drive mine, if you ended up here! :) :y

Hey all, I enjoy this site more than the US's site for cadillac, and i need help with one thing.  I had installed a Alpine deck and it works but for the life of me i can get it to turn off unless i pull the face off.  Now what i need help with is what wires for the power and constant are you aftermarket deck users using?  I have the 12v(red) hooked up to a fuse (radio batt) and the illum (yellow) to the cig lighter. But like i said it works fine but it gets annoying resetting my settings and clock everytime i drive it. Please help as i have a shaved head and can't pull any of my hair out... :-/ :-?  BTW what are you guys using to keep the steering wheel controls working?   :y   Also i have a 2001 facelift if that helps.

« on: 09 June 2007, 08:42:16 »
Hey all,  I am from the US and drive a 2001 cady Catera.  I came here to see if anyone can help me with the "correct" install of my aftermarker head unit and removal of BOSE!!!!  I have the head unit in but it doesn't turn off and when i get back into my car after 1/4 hour or so its reset to 87.5.  If someone could guide me through wiring whatever wires to make it not do that it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

To get inside of your car is the best.  Just make sure that you don't forget anything.  I forgot a bolt to add and had to brake down again to pop it in and hook up all the wires!  My first change took awhile (5 hours w/ a lunch break) and second like 2 hours tops.

« on: 22 September 2007, 23:39:49 »
I must not have one of the cleanest engines on here :'(  I figured with the time it took to clean mine someone would have said something.  But what i do is atleast every month i wipe it down with a damp rag and i haven't nor will i ever use any engine degreeser.  It will never take more than 10-15 mins to wipe it.  Just take the time once and awhile.
