My son has two part time jobs working with children, he had to have seperate CRB checks even thought the first check was only a couple of months old. He is looking at doing some voluntary work in a local school to bolster his C.V and has been informed he will probably need another check even though his last one was only about three months ago
[/quote]There is a move to change this as it can get, as you say, quite stupid.....
To work with Kids and Vulnerable Adults you need an Enhanced CRB check, only taking about 2 weeks at the moment, this is valid for 3 years and is a National Check.
Police Checks are different and usually just done locally by professionals in certain situations......
Under 'Sarah's Law' not sure what the exact legislation is, anyone with good reason can request a check to see if a person is known to be of concern to authorities if alone with children, a single mother perhaps who may want to check out a potential partner.
Hope this helps...
