in production, if you run out of a lower spec loom ,you up spec with parts you do have to keep production line running .
GM have many different OEM suppliers and a gazillion part numbers  :D

Whatever for? It's a massive amount of work to remove the entire wiring loom from a modern car, let alone replace it.

What age is your donor car?  If it has the later style levelling sensors, I might do a midnight run when you aint looking :D

Sounds like it needs a half hour with a welder, rather than days of dismantling.  ;)

You are removing the whole loom? Behind the dash, up the roof pillars, everything into the boot etc? That's fitted before the interior? Getting the whole thing out of something old and simple like a Capri is quarter the time it takes to break the whole car and I need about 5 hours to do that. How are you doing a complex car like an Omega so quickly, or had you already started on the interior? I salvaged the entire loom from a MGTF(the intention was to upspec an earlier car, and it all had to be usable with no damaged wires or connectors) late last year, and that took a couple of hours once we'd dropped the rear subframe

Having removed the entire dash and interior from (gay) Goldie, I still ended up using shears on the loom.

Too early for the sensors mine takes - but get them off and in the For Sale section before you scrap the donor ;)

it took me around an hour or so to remove the complete interior including the headliner. the loom is in 3 sections the dash in know out that took me around 20 minutes or so going to finish the rest over the weekend, iam used to working on cars been doing it for the last nearlt 35 years or so ive just finished doing a full restoration on a mk3 tina, and ive stripped and rebuilt lots of cars in my time to name a few a few rover sd1s a nissan 300zx t/t and a mitsubishi gto and a few more beside so an omega is a walk in the park. :y

Thats why everyone said to make a short loom piece.  The cabin looms on these vary, and are a pig to change.  But appreciate sometimes you have to discover this for yourself ;)
