All-season Tires

Is anyone here familiar with Toyo Tires' Proxes A18? I am contemplating whether to buy a set of winter tires (or is it just a waste of money?) or just buy all-season tires that can also handle light snow. Any other recommendations?

Too late to buy winter tyres now.

British winters are pretty mild these days so I never have and never will waste money on 'winters'

No complaints about Accelera winter tyres all year round...

Based on about 25k miles on both an Omega and an E39... Both with 225/55/16 xl tyres. About £45 a corner :y

If the car is showing signs of unusual wear, then new tyres are a long way down the list of jobs...

OK.....I suppose as long as your tires have plenty of tread in the center of the tire and are a nice black color all should be well.

Depends what you're after.  Clearly, black and round is your preference, which is fine if you understand and accept the limits :y

But anyone looking for grip will be looking at double that price for 17s.

Or some are happy with a compromise (although most mid range tyres are mid range price for budget performance now :(), which again is fine, as long as their limits are known and accepted.

Sadly, the stupid EU tyre labelling has properly clucked things up, as *EVERYTHING* should be able to achieve A wet grip
