Sadly I’ll never see it as I never, ever, ever watch any BBC channel. It’s petty I know but I haven’t watched any BBC channel for well over twenty five years and would love to see them die on their arse without funding. As I say, I’m petty like that.  ::)

No not watching it as it's of no interest to me.

I'm sure that they'll spin it round to make them appear to be the saviour of us and the planet. It's what the Beeb does.

I thought it would too ... but it didn't.

There was nothing in it that was particularly new. Started off by saying how much more efficient and clean EVs are compared to internal combustion engines. Then, pretty quickly, went on to all the problems with battery weight, charging times, manufacturing processes and costs and lack of charging facilities. Even told us how China produced most of the chemicals elements needed to make batteries. Then how our government was far behind on investment compared to pretty much everywhere else.
This is good, I thought, they're actually saying that the whole idea is not really viable. But, no, at the end we had a ten minute evangelical sermon on how, if we tried really hard, and all did our bit, we could make it happen.

Personally, I think the futility of it all won through.  :)

Next week......heat pumps.

A quick Google suggests that electricity costs around 73p per kwh at motorway services charging points.

Which makes me wonder if at that price it's cheaper to have a generator in a trailer, charging as you go!  :)                ::)                   ;D

That was another point that was raised that I forgot to mention: The national grid can't cope without a massive upgrade  :)

A news item said that 16 new Tesla supercharger bays near Gatwick are sat idle as they can’t connect them to the grid, as the grid isn’t ready for them yet.
