XBOX 360 Query
« on: 23 December 2006, 21:15:23 »

Is the premium console any better with graphics and game play than the full system version :-?

Only difference in actual console is the premium has chrome dvd drawer!

Premium comes with:
20Gb HDD
Wireless Controller (std has wired controller)
HD component cable (std has standard svideo type cable)

The HDD is pretty useful, and essential if you want to run older xbox games (not all xbox games work)

So the full system is the same with 20Gb HDD just without chrome drawer?

There are only 2 systems as far as I know - std (£199) and premium (£279). Anything else is likely to be a store specific deal....

Being an Owner of the premium version.
It's worth it just for th 20GB HDD, and the ablility to play online....

AFAIK, the Standard cheapo Version does not support XBOX Live Gold, and HDD TV....

And if you have a TFT Monitor for your PC, you can get HD Gaming from the XBOX360 for on 30 Microsoft Pounds.....

There is a 30 Quid VGA to Xbox  Cable that does the obvious, and providing you gset the XBOX to a minimum of 1024x768 you get 720PHD, that also, if you watch DVDs on it wil Play them and upscale them also...
Pretty Neat TBH, and believe me, playing on a CRT TV, on PAL60 is NOTHING compared to playing even 720P HD.

I got a ACER19" Widescreen for mine that supports 1080 HD, for 114 quid from EBAY. WOW. it's a totally different games console.

Cheers.

I agree, worth it for the HDD.  Std can play online, but you need either a memory card or HDD (as you will with most games for save games etc).

I now have the vga lead (thanks outlaws :y) so can play at native resolution of the LCD in bedroom (1280 x 768 or something like that)
