Windscreen Wipers
« on: 24 November 2008, 20:30:03 »

Hi there, found another fault today. The windscreen wipers dont always turn off when switched to do so. Is this just a switch problem or is it more in depth

Once again thanks in advance

I'm sure Kevin will be along sometime soon ::)

IIRC, I think it's the contacts in the motor itself?

Kev had this issue, I'm sure he'll advise on what caused it :y

It was indeed the motor in my case.

If it gets really frustrating you can remove the wiper delay relay from the engine bay fuse box. The wipers won't auto-park but they'll at least stop when you want them to. I fitted a used motor. Not a bad job. Scuttle off, wiper frame out and swap the motor over. Good opportunity to pop the ball joints on the wiper levers and give them a clean and some fresh grease.
