Title: 2G mobile signal booster
Post by: Shackeng on 15 July 2019, 22:34:26
I have a gps watch/communicator (think Dick Tracy) that uses 2G on any available network, however we don't get any decent mobile network signal indoors, so I have to use wifi on my mobile. Can anyone recommend a way to help get a signal indoors? Booster advertised seem very pricey. :-\

Is something like this likely to work? :-\

The fact that it has no reviews may tell you something...... :-\

Dont bother wasting 15 quid on this, these Repeater Signal Set Ups only work (and then Limited) by Isolating the Signals between the A End (Roof) and B End (Inside Room / Basement), your need to spend heavenly in a proper decent Cable Installation and Route Design, then having spent potentially a High Valve to get that Installed your not going to end up putting a £15 Box in the middle of it to make it all work correctly.

Cheers Chris, I have come across something called a femtocell, but apparently only Vodafone and 3 offer them, and although my provider, ID, uses 3, they don't, so I'm still stuck with a poor signal. I can get 2 of 4 bars upstairs, and hoped to find a relatively cheap way of boosting it. Some of the quite expensive ones on offer are illegal anyway. :(
