Anyone got the above? Unfussed on what colour as it'll be getting painted into Attractive Ex-Plod Sparkly Grey like the rest of the trim, because I am a chav.

Also a 6PK2020 belt by SKF. Aux belt for V6 with air con, brand new, sat in here for a year...

I’ll take the belt please :y

Drop me a PM :)

Naturally before I go to work its raining cats, dogs, hamsters and tortoises (whoch hurt).

Luckily I've pinched LadyGK's car to get there... Hopefully its a bit drier later!

11 years later and this fault has returned. I cannot remember what I did last time so tomorrow is going to be a bit of diagnostic time...

Also this means I've put about 30k on it in my ownership - easy life for the poor old thing, less than 3k a year!

Trying to sort out my Basra-inspired spare room.

V6 aircon compressor and pipework, weren't working when removed from 2003 V6, maybe meed a strip and new seals. Probably not just a regas ;)

Also what I think are a pair of lower manifold heat shields for a V6, decent nick, I was just to lazy to refit them.

PM with a number and I can WhatsApp pics if needed.

Free collection from the cultural centre of Teesside, postage for the cmpressor will be  bit hefty but happy to package if someone arranges a courier.

Don't know if AD got sorted but if anyone has any between Liverpool and Durham I can  ply courier tomorrow...

General Car Chat / Re: Decent garage near Harpenden?

I've sem5t that to him. He'll probably just drive it until the wheel falls off, mind... Then complain that the AA want a million pounds for a roadside signup.

If I tod you that he bought an immaculate second hand Golf GTI then sold it two months later because it needed brake pads, and was therefore clearly unreliable... You'll understand that diagnosing this remotely is like doing brain surgery wearing boxing gloves... :D

General Car Chat / Decent garage near Harpenden?
« on: 29 December 2022, 10:14:21 »
Now strangers, hope we are all well.

Mate is in Harpenden with a "strange noise" on his steering. I was going to recommend he pop into WIM 15 minutes away but as they are no longer trading...

Anyone know a decent place to get it on a ramp and find the fault? Its a newish hatchback, Ibiza maybe.

In my limited experience, wheel refurbers respond well to persuasive negotiation on price. Especially when someone turns up with a wodge of paper money. :y

General Car Chat / Re: So what have you done to your car today?
« on: 16 August 2022, 12:16:03 »
Following Addy's visit the other day, I set to finishing off welding the rear floorpan of the Golf. He's done 90pc of the work, I just do the finishing bits and then take all the credit ;)

Then the promised weather arrived and I could hear Michael Buerk commentsting so i thought it best to retire indoors before I electrocuted myself or drowned...

Daughter and Son In Law frequent it regularly ...they do a burger challenge which is huge but if you eat it you dont pay and your picture goes up on the wall....needless to say Son In Law appears alot .

Yes a really grotty area but plenty worse  :-\

Challenge you say? Looks like I'm going to have to go back... :D

General Car Chat / Hot Rod Diner, Northfleet
« on: 13 August 2022, 20:40:18 »
When you find an unexpected dining place... And it turns out to be magnificent

Hot Rod Diner, High St, Northfleet. Amazing food, reasonable price, great service and milkshakes you can actually drink rather than needing a shovel. Cheesy 50s charm and great atmosphere.

Don't tell MrsGK but the ladies working there weren't hard to look at either .

The only downside is Northfleet seems quite stabby, even for someone who used to live in Middlesbrough... :D
