Mate, I know from other forums in my country (clubopel.com) that it is for testing the HID xenon system.

« on: 25 October 2009, 07:42:12 »

As I had promised, the pics from the instalation. The form factor is not quite finished, because the sistem is in the beta phase (for testing).
Technical specs:
- DVD ELTA With 7" dual monitors displaying independly (DIVX,  MP3, JPG, etc.), AV in;
- vhs-c video camera Panasonic RZ 15 with 0 lux night view, 18 x optical zoom, 700 x digital zoom, AV out.

I wil put also a rear parking camera (fits in the rear bar) that comutes from the DVD/camera in reverse gear.

P.S.: By the way, in the last pic I am  ::)

Here are the pics only with the display mounted and functioning. The camera I will mount saturday. So...

P.S.: Saturday I will post the pics from the instalation of the display  in the instrument cluster, where the real adventure was ;)

So, I get it work, installed the display in the instrument panel and the camera only for testing, and tomorrow maybe I will install the camera also near the rearview mirror. In 30 minutes I will upload the pictures... Just a sec.

Yep, so I have conducted a series of tests for mounting to my mig a night vision system, very simple, but very usefull and cheap in the same time (if you have an old video camera with night vision capabilities and a monitor). Here are two links witch describe some of the functionalities of the system
http://www.i-car.com/html_pages/technical_information/advantage/advantage_online_archives/2006/051506.shtml
http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/gadgets/automotive/in-dash-night-vision-system3.htm
I personally find this system very usefull in my contry, because at night, even on European roads, there are drunk men, bicyclists, and carts not signalised.
So, the big question is that you find this system usefull or not, and with arguments. Thanks for your time!

Omega General Help / Re: Fuel Problems.
« on: 13 April 2010, 22:57:59 »
I have also problems with my 2.2 dti, and managed in different ways but without great succes. I had mounted a unisense valve in the return pipe from the tank, mounted a manual pump (witch has a unisense valve in it) in the line beetwen filter housing and injection pump, also refitted another injection pump (very expensive) with 1 year guarantee, changed O-ring seals from the injectors (had black diesel fuel returning from one injector => whole tank contminated), changed the entire hose line from filter housing to injection pump. So, excepting all that, I only assume that is from the injectors, wich it will cost aprox. 50 E each in changing the nossle. Any ideas? :)

Omega General Help / Re: 2.5TD Charge air pipe?
« on: 13 April 2010, 23:08:34 »
Indeed, I had last year the same problem. My 2.2 dti ran on oil @ 6000 rpms, resulting in 1 melted piston, created enough pressure destroying the radiator coloumns, alternator regulating voltage relay, and many others. Total cost aprox. 3000 Euros. Thanks God I was stopped at the traffic light (but I wasn't thinking in my mind that if I putting in the 5-th gear the engine would stop - maybe the SHOCK!). So be very carefoul!

I am coming with new questions, because the problem is not resolved  :(
So, rustym95 you are saying that is an CHARGING RELAY in the relays box? Besides the voltage regulator? Interesting! THe GREEN ONE? Can you tell me exactly wich one is it or shall I take a look in TIS?

Doesn't anybody know? Any advice will be greatfull!

Hello everyone! Here I come with new measurements wich look like this: I pulled each fuse one at a time and when removed fuse 7 the multimeter showed a consumption of 0,00 A from the 0,25 A wich I had. At the fuse 7 we have the accesory relay and it switches itself off after a total of 5 minutes, so I guess the case is resolved, unless the relay is defective. What do you guys think? :)

13
Ok, I will measure that way, but if someone knows what are the common consumers that can generate that consumption of a total of 0,23 A ?

14
Thanks rusty. I come with fresh measurements results, so:
- when I close everything, the multimeter shows there is a fluctuating consumption as between 1,12 A and 0,60 A, and after 30 seconds it shows 0,30 A for 2 seconds and then stabilizing at 0,26 A or somethimes 0,23 A, and stays like that;
- I also measured with the CCR 2006 off  the bay, or with the ECU disconected, or with the tow relay disconected, or with the radiator like relay disconected and it is 0,23 A also; also with all of that disconected;
- I also cleaned all the battery contacts and the contacts from the fuse box located in the engine compartment, including the 80 Amps fuses located upon the battery and the showed 0,27 A  :-?
- I measured the alternator battery circuit and the results are like this: alternator (alt.) plus and alt. mass is 14,43 V; alt. plus and turbo mass is 14,44; alt. plus and A.C. conduct is 13,70 (maybe is the alloy used in the conduct); alt. plus and battery minus is 14,35  :-? ; battery plus and alt. mass is 14,04; and finnaly at the battery terminals I have from 13,90 to 14,04 without any consumers. So the big question is why I don't have 14,44 or at least 14,40 at the battery terminals  :-?  :question
- and when I leave the mig in the parking lot for 3 days or more, it seems like the battery is exhausted, or when I start several times in succession, since the battery is new with a 80 A current  :-?
- what should I do to find out what is my consumer with a 0,23 A; should I remove any fuse from the foot compartment and measure or shoul I remove any relay from the engine or foot compartment  :question :-?
Any ideas will be wellcome and I thank you in advance, because
I am at the second battery and I would be angry, especially as winter comes  :D
Yours,
Secarianu Florentin Razvan

Omega General Help / P1590-engine running signal and charging problems
« on: 11 September 2009, 20:01:28 »
Hy everybody! Does anyone know what P1590 Engine running signal, high input (permanent)  error means on my 2.2 DTI diesel mig? Please help me with any advice, because I am stunned by this error. It has any relevance with the charging, because my values are 13,90 V in idle, and 14,00 V at 3000 rpms? The consumption is ~ 600 mA with the engine stopped. Thanks in advance!
