Don't know if this has been asked on here,but will the Omega cope without problems with E10 fuel when it comes in or will it be a case of sticking with E5 and paying the extra premium they're on about.

I don't forsee any problem, petrol is already E5.

No mention of it in the Owners manual :-\
Personally if those are the two choices, I would go for the lowest ethanol content available as it has been proven to dissolve any rubber in the fuel system. Basically turns it to a tarry mush which will clog and kill the fuel pumps over time.

I refuse to put E10 in the tank. E5 runs smoothly and I’m not willing to “test” by means of trial and error. So far, any “old” car I’ve driven runs sh*t on E10 and seen few cars burning because of E10 so why bother trying? ;)
There’s no advantage at all using E10, only risks of damaging the engine and in worst case your whole car.

Well there is, both environmental and the fact that Ethanol may provide a power increase or at the very least, offer more resistance to knock.

If fuel consumption increases with 10%, I don’t foresee any environmental advantages to be honest. Luckily I haven’t tried it with my omega. ;D

I was at my local Asda Supermarket today. And noticed that the pumps show E10. No other petrol, the other pump next to the E10 was diesel. Is anyone elses Asda fuel station the same?

Sainsburys near me has E10 mark on regular unleaded and E5 on the super unleaded

I fill up at Asda regularly. I haven't looked at the petrol pumps because my diesel will run on bat piss or sheep shit or anything really. I'll look when I'm next in.

Just been so drove through the forecourt for a nosy. Petrol E10, Diesel B7.

Was looking at a website, cant remember which one :-[, think it's a DVLA one , and the only engine affected on mine, (Vectra) is the 2.2 direct injection.

esso synergy is ethanol free and 99 ron too so no issues there.im using it now in all mine.

Won’t be putting anything other than Shell V power 99 in the Evo as that’s what it’s mapped for👍

Apart from the 2.2 direct injection engines, all our Vauxhall’s are safe on E10 ;)

I was about to put some super E5 in the Boxster at my local garage yesterday. Then noticed it was priced at 156.9p per litre.
It will have to make do with the cheap stuff for the moment. ::)

Yes they're still around. The footprint of a fuel station is usually worth a lot more to the franchisee as a building site then it is as a business, so we lose more and more every year.

The Saab might be a posh Vectra, but the Swedes say okay for E10.

E10 is fine in SWMBOs 2005 Subaru forester.

Yes they're still around. The footprint of a fuel station is usually worth a lot more to the franchisee as a building site then it is as a business, so we lose more and more every year.
Round here, its farmers fields that get snapped up for building houses.
Where the opps are all these people coming from? Obviously, my manifesto for Dictator has a cheap, easy solution.

French France, in large dinghys mainly. Thats apart from the 5 million plus EU citizens who came here from the time Blair opened the floodgates until about a year ago.
If you believe in freedom of movement, you cant really complain about houses being buiult all over Englands green & pleasant land. :)

The RNLI say inflatables are dangerous and shouldn't be used anyway ::)
