There's a label on the ECU saying its been overhauled so might be chipped.

Common sticker, on factory refurbished units.

Silicone grease is your friend. Carefully remove all old seals, after spraying them with silicone spray, when refitting coat seals with silicone grease.

Apart from the chipped ECU apparently.
The 3.0 could be chipped, but not likely to have been as a matter of routine. Some forces did for certain applications, but you have more chance of finding a rust free ega with ten miles on it for a fiver.
.

Some 3.0L were "modified" or chipped as the you'ff say, I had a chip from an ex-diplomatic protection car, slightly better fueling, some NIPS cars had larger throttle bodies and a modified map. I think the chip I had is still around Hoof'land. But l haven't asked if the person still has it.

The price you'll pay for 1 refurbishment you could possibly buy a set of 4 from eBay, gumtree, FB.

If you follow all of that, I suspect you'll be the first person ever to do it 8)

If I was paranoid about them, I'd use a torque wrench for the 90Nm before adding a bit more :y

Personally I'd just put them back in and do them up tight.

That's only got the single pack, bolted on back of block on a plate.

I know .... I used to have an Omega & have changed one ;) but there was a choice of 3(?), and Vx couldn't tell you which one until you'd put the old coil pack on their parts counter.

It's only the plug which you need to see,
Ovel, square and rectangle.

So it needs, full service+cambelt, possibly wishbones, coolent change, breathers doing. And chassis legs will be crusty.Reckon £600 on parts.  It's getting expensive already. Might even need tyres.
