Every county in the UK will have their own variant soon the way things are going, it appears more of a shambles every day a new
"expert" appears each morning on the TV and just adds to the confusion ,and then the holiday ads appear followed by the government advice "Stay home stay safe" you really couldn't make it up.

We need the message of fear  ::)
half the country still haven't got the message about social distancing etc and think Chinese Virus won't effect them  >:(
sooner or later it will . if everyone took it seriously ,we'd be in a much better place.
The press are already AGAIN talking about when the lockdown will end ,what people can get away with, pubs opening, holidays FFS  >:(
1000+ dead per day and 28 thousand in hospital with Covid 19 , new strains and mutations ,and the more people ignore it,the bigger problem it will be .
there's a lot of thick people in this world and FEAR is a basic instinct that even thickos have ,not all though .

Unfortunately the UK has an abundance of thick bastards who possess nil intelligence.

It would be ok if it was just them who got infected, but it doesnt work like that unfortunately.

You're absolutely right , we've got quite used to the lockdown routine not exactly the retirement we had envisaged but a lot better than the other common option at present, personally I think it will continue a fair while yet if others want to take their chances with pubs aeroplanes & any other stupidity good luck with it.

We have the second highest death rate, after Belgium, per million population. And that's inspite of being locked down.

That's proof enough that the current lockdown arrangements simply don't work.

And although the numbers look impressive, they're still a fraction of the population. Total cases 6% of total population, active cases 3% of total population, of which are critical 0.17%, and fatalities from total case number 2.85%.

So, as it stands, this has killed less than 3% of the near 4,000,000 people who have contracted it.

Not being able to work or socially interact with the regulars at one pub seems like an extremely draconian price to pay for those odds.

No it is not! ::) ::)

Have you forgotten that the first lock-down, which was more complete than the current one, was lifted - thousands went to the beach, to the countryside with queues of traffic, then for Christmas the brakes came off again with mass family gatherings?  Do you remember that then, surprise, surprise the infection and death rate rocketed again?

No lock-down = higher infection and death rates.  Simples (well for most of us!!) ::) ::) ;)
