....may go up significantly in the next week, if this isn't sorted out.

I am surprised there aren’t more incidences of such crime or devilment. Maybe they don’t get reported unless like this it has an obvious effect.

Oil companies will find any excuse to raise the prices, it's good for shareholders and pension companies.

It's quite likely to be a deliberate act to destabilise public trust in pipelines as a forerunner to shutting it down.

Pump prices in the States have almost doubled since February.

You'd think that they could send a little man (or woman) to go out and manually open the valves with one of those big steering wheel type thingies.   :)

That's progress for you!  :y   ;D

Yesterday it was $2.96 on average, so cheap to us, but our American friends will continue to cry about it.  They moaned to me in 1998 about it reaching $1 per gallon, so this is a disaster! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;)

Dont forget their gallons are smaller than ours.  ;) Still cheap as chips compared to the UK though.

It used to be the case that the average tank over there only did 15mpg, don't know if that's still the case.

Apart from the gas guzzlers that some Americans still drive, the majority of cars are Japanese, European, or other ‘economy’ examples.  In 1990 there were still plenty of big engined American automobiles to choose from, in 1998 we even hired a 5.5 litre Ford Crown Victoria - a brilliant sedan, but when I visited in 2010 we were so disappointed. Toyotas, Mercs, BMW’s  and other European type engined cars were everywhere. Even the GM, Dodge and other home built vehicles had economy type engines, but were vastly out numbered by ‘our type of car”.Muscle cars still exist, but in far fewer numbers than back in the day! :'( :'(

Gone had the good old days of true American automobile motoring. :'( :'(

The supply of those damn fossil fuels have become so unreliable that everyone will have to buy electric cars and we'll let the next generation worry about the electricity supplies!  :y

Apparently, a $5 million ransom changed hands to get the pipeline up and running.
