A search this morning suggested around a couple of grand for the RoRo. Australia no longer exports vehicles, so there's spare capacity. 

That isn't bad, but I wouldn't like the +30% VAT and import duty that you'd have to pay on the car cost. You'd have to really want one I reckon, as you're up to this kind of money by the time you've faffed about.

I know which I'd rather blow £10k on.

That E500 is a gamble being an early M273... Chain idler pulley is made of cheese, and it's bang on the mileage for it

Or you could buy one with the CDI engines where you have to replace the bonnet when an injector fails....

I'd heard of the injectors leaking and gumming up (black death I think they call it  ). But not them letting go completely
