Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're going to reconfig. the head unit to be non-bose and install in a car that doesn't have Bose the speaker outputs will just connect to the existing loom?

Might need some tweaking of the display wiring, as said, of course....

Yep, was just trying to point out that if the OP did want to look into Bose'ing the car then there is a bit more to do on a facelift!  :y

I was going to put it into a non bose car.But i have had another look at the bose wiring harness and believe i could retrofit that aswell,as i've got the speakers amp wiring etc.Now thinking about it,its becoming more of a  challenge.  :y

I understand that theres no plug and play on the facelifts for the bose system.i have got some of the wiring from the radio to kick panel and a few spare,36 outlet connectors to make, hopefully a working loom :y

Ideally you need a 36 ISO male and female fully wired (A trafficmaster sub-loom is the best solution) then take your tails for the screen and Bose link from the Male end (which the cars loom will now plug into).

This can then be tucked on the r/h side of the console (the only place where there is space.

I found the easiest way to install the cabling to the kick panel connector was to make up your loom from the trafficmaster sub loom, install it and route the cabling out along the original cabling route and under the steering column / around the pedal box (taking particular care to make sure nothing snags) then 'graft' the kick panel connector on afterwards. There isn't an option to make the complete loom up first then install because there just isn't the room to feed any of the connectors through the route required.

Q1 Yep, the speaker outputs from the radio go to the bose amp and the return outputs fromthe amp go to the speakers.

Q2 On a OEM Bose install the speaker outputs from the head unit are caried in two core shielded cable, the shield goes to 0V.

Yes, On my loom I used a trafficmaster loom, cut the speaker outputs, soldered flyleads to both ends, routed them down to the kick panel then soldered them to the kick panel connector I obtained from a breaker.

Some of them have perforations to allow you to cut the holes out.
