No weapon is 100% and quite rightly it was suppressed where all nuclear weapons stuff is top secret. :y

Rare S300 footage!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtuN8UuAWTg

Maybe not so rare after all...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pkuOZVSrS4

and this S300 failure near Ukraine border killed and injured some of the troops taking part.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s77cqabHsM

The anti-ship version of the S300 also has its failures.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvSFN6Q_jpM

And the Allies have their failures as well!

Back in the 60's Blue Steel (our stand off missile) was appalling, if it didn't explode while being filled with fuel on the ground 50% of them failed to launch successfully. However Avro and the MOD told everyone it worked well and showed some successful test footage. So the USSR believed it worked and we had deterrence.  :y

There are still some there on a different listing, but if the photo is correct it does not look complete.

What do we reckon then chaps - ACDelco ones worth a bash? I will be fitting with the help of a tame guru, but he isn't VAT registered so I imagine if it goes pop then I couldn't claim against them/ the seller/ my dustman...

Yes, I may have forgotten to ring the factors today on my "break"...

Nothing like positive thinking!

In the photo it seems to be missing one pulley....

Not really sure what the Times is playing at - the nuclear deterrent relies on a perception that it is effective and that we are willing to use it. RT etc are all over this and the only thing it is damaging is the credibility of the UK on the international stage.

Trident is a complex system and if we test it sometimes it won't work, but thats not something to shout about!

Have a brace of 3.2s needing a change - and buypartsby seems to have disappeared from the interweb?

Best price VX can do is £180 each or thereabouts. .. if I buy a Contitech kit via ATPs eBay shop that should be genuine right? Looking at £ 130 each at the moment.

That is a massive price hike - are they offering any discount?

General Discussion Area / Re: iphone / iCloud question
« on: 21 January 2017, 18:17:46 »
Been using my iPhone to take pictures / videos quite a lot recently.

Got to the point that most of the 16 gig was used up.
The phone backs itself up onto iirc  iCloud when plugged in, Wi-Fi enabled and not in use.

I've just been on icloud via the laptop and everything on the phone is there on the laptop screen so decided to delete stuff off the phone.
When deleting stuff, I'm given a message saying .............  This photo will be deleted from your iCloud Photo Library on all your devices.

Does all devices mean just my 2 iPhones or the phones and access via the laptop ??

Just to add

I've just gone into iCloud settings on the laptop and under My Devices, it shows my old iPhone 4s and the current phone.

You need to tell iCloud to manage the storage on your phone - this will mean it only stores local copies that will fit, anything else is stored on iCloud and downloaded when needed.

If you do what you suggest you are just deleting your photos - completely.

Steve

How do you do that Bud ?

On the phone: (assuming iOS 10)

Settings > iCloud > Photos > change from 'Download and Keep Originals' to 'Optimise iPhone Storage'

Why is it retards around here have no idea about setting up wifi?

Some mongrel with a new router has just put it on an overlapping channel, and has clearly just been updating their porn collection...  ....impacting my connectivity:

    Packets: Sent = 588, Received = 345, Lost = 243 (41% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 1971ms, Average = 191ms

'tards.  I think its time to make their life a misery  >:(

I know what you mean but people just don't get it - my Mum for example would just plug in what came in the post.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Climate Panel
« on: 12 January 2017, 22:23:52 »
So how can you test if the thermistor is working correctly?

I'm sure there is a fault with my panel as I currently have it set for 24c and I'm sure the internal temp is nowhere near that.

Plug it into diagnostics and observe the temperature compared to a thermometor.

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Re: Wanted drivers door switch
« on: 06 January 2017, 18:36:24 »
I'm sure these are cheap as chips from dealer or flea bay.

That's what I said on the other post - you also know it will keep working  :y

147
Is that the plunger type on the pillar if so I guess no as when the drivers door is opened the courtesy lights do not come on !

That is your problem then - easy to change  :y

Hi guys can anyone tell me if the buzzer that sounds when you get out of the car and have left your headlights on is located ? I thought but have no real idea that it was part of the headlight switch . Asking as mine does not sound and having recently flattened the battery after driving In fog during the day locked the car and went shopping for 5 hours and came back to a flat battery . :(

Is the door switch working? Last time I had this issue it was that - remember it a double contact type when testing.

Hey all!

I've been reading the forum since I got my car. I found it very useful.

My question / problem is.
I have an original set of HID headlamps (bulbs are old, the beam is not right, and the ballasts are old too.)
I made some calculation, and my sum was that it is a lot cheaper to buy an aftermarket headlamp set (TYC or DEPO) but with halogen bulbs.
So my question is: Are the connectors compatible?
Will some message appear on the MID? (fault or something)
I've read the low beam message from other on the forum. (probably my car wont show that, cause my MID might have been "set off" with tech 2
I also read the fault codes from the headlamp leveling system ECU and a lot of DTC's have been there so the system is not working right now.

So I'm about to replace the headlamps, put the connectors back (of course the connector from the HID ballast goes to the H4 bulb)
Can I do that?

Thank you in advance, and sorry for my English

PS: I wish you a happy new year.  :)

Deep are ok at a fraction of the cost of Hella, which are much better made.

I would think carefully as headlights in not the Omegas strong point and you will notice the very poor illumination if you go from HID to standard.
