No, you don't NEED to do this. This is to rectify the EML warning messages 0430 etc. that the later v6 (2.6 and 3.2) are prone to.

It's a long story, and there are many a thread on the issue, but rest assured it is good news if you drive a later v6. Luckily for you, it's not something you'd need to worry about with a 2ltr 4pot.

Sorry, I misinterpreted your "2000" in your profile as a 2ltr.

You should still be OK as I don't think you have the same pre-cat and 4 lambda sensor set-up as the slightly later engines.

You should still be OK as I don't think you have the same pre-cat and 4 lambda sensor set-up as the slightly later engines.

The 3.0 V6 will have just the single Lambda sensor and cat per bank.
