Quite a few electrical things not working.
« on: 01 December 2010, 19:19:35 »

Oh the snow, Mrs Varche reports a number of issues with a project 1997 Elite I  have bought "unseen"!!!!

Washers not working headlamps Ok but not screen. Mould in system blocking jets??

Drivers and passenger seat adjustment not working. up down or fore aft. Fuse? Is there  a manual way of changing the position? If so apart from the lost supplied tool what do you use?

Electric mirrors not working adjustment wise. ? Fuse?

Door windows groan up and down. rather than  moving smartly. Not a huge issue but any suggestions.?

Headlights really really poor. Aren't they all. Driver in front says beams all over the place. Mrs varche says we can't drive it at night as can't see. Broken adjusters? Or is that later Hella lights only. Do non mini facelift lights have "levers" for continental driving.

We are driving it back to Spain on Sunday unless.............  :y I will have a couple of hours on Saturday to sort it. Or it is back up for sale.

Washers - if the wipers are working and the washers aren't then yes, blocked filter.

Seats - fuse 5 30a :y

Mirrors - fuse  13 10a :y

Windows are probably stiff from sitting.

Headlights - check the reflectors are solid if not just wedge them with  like kitchen towel to hold them in place just to get it home. As for poor light, Halfrauds and get some super bright bulbs (nightbreakers or the like) ;) They should have the beam flattening levers :y
