When i pull the stalk to wash the screen, the jets work but the wipers don't move at all. When on other settings and you turn the wipers off they don't go down to the bottom of the screen, just stop where they are? Has anyone had or know the solution to this problem? It is a 2002 2.6 Omega Saloon.
Thanks in advance for any help.

There's a guide for that iirc :y

Looked at the maintenace one, but isn't that mechanical? On mine the wiper stalk needs to be flicked on and off until they sit at the bottom of the screen. When the screen wash is used only washers work, the wipers don't even move at all. They were working ok but just started doing it. How many relays are there for the wipers and where are they on a 02 omega?
Thanks again for all help.

Where is the washer relay on a 02 saloon, and is it the same part number on a 1995 omega estate? If it is will try relay out of wifes car.
Thanks

Estate relays are different to manage the rear wiper and pump.
Swapping your switch with the saloon one should work to rule the switch out, but I suspect the issue lies with the motor rather than the wiring ;)

sounds like the park track contact in the motor
which is a common fault on lesser vauxhalls

Thank you both for the replying. I have found a washer relay under wifes '95 omega steering in fuse box. Number on it is 90494187. When she comes back will look on my 02, to see if have a washer relay with same number. Never easy thing that goes wrong. Priced up a second hand motor from 52Omega on ebay.
I found a writeup somewhere about the park contacts and how to fix them.

Found the repair site for park contacts, this seems to also work on Omega motor?

Thanks

the repair will work IF the park track contact is the issue
check with a multi-meter
could equally be the relay

i had this problem Addy it turned out to be the big yellow relay, i think someone supplied a VW equivalent one which sorted the problem :y

That will be a VW 99 relay . . .gives you varying time delay on intermittant wipe . Which is a worthwhile upgrade for the omega.
There is a guide to changing it & how it operates somewhere on here I think :-\ :-\ .
VW 99 relay is easy to spot at a breakers . . .its black & has . . . . .wait for it . . . . . .
"99" stamped on top in white :P :P
Cannot vouche that it will cure your problem though :-\ :-\

May well have been Paul . . . memory is going a bit now ;D ;D ;D
Probably got a couple knocking about in the shed if OP cannot locate one . although they were always available on flea bay ::) ::)

Personally I'd put a wanted advert in the relevant section, never know what might turn up.

Thanks again for all the help. I am managing to keep a 1995 2ltr estate and my 02 2.6 saloon on the road, from all the knowledge on this forum.
I have managed to get the VW 99 relay just waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully it will sort the problem, if not as you say biggriffin, I will ask on here for possibly a wiper motor and the yellow relay.
-
Will check, stock when back home. :y

The VW99 relay arrived yesterday, so just been out to fit it. The yellow relay was a pain to get out, but finally managed to swap it.
The good news is everything is working again as they should be, even returning to park.
So thanks Toledodude1973 for suggesting changing the yellow relay. Much easier and cheaper than a wiper motor replacement.
