Strange how the Vauxhall badge is on the drivers side and Omega 3.2 V6 on passenger side. Looks ok like that though...

Congrats on the new purchaseYes,
What Essex Big Al said, ask if some one can go for you
Where is it?
Matthew
Understood. Decision made, I'm going for it. So I'll call in the morning, if not sold, jump in car and drive.
I am now the owner of two Omegas . . . but realistically I'll need to get rid of the old one.
So . . . some details
Vauxhall Omega 3.2 V6 24V MV6 5dr Auto Estate 2003
The Bad: Filthy car, under the bonnet full of leaves and stuff from trees etc. Drove it back from Midlands to London, some intermittant shudder at certain speeds. Nearside lock does not always work centrally. Mix of cheap tyres. Used to be run by sellers sister who had horses, so lots of muddy bits and scruffy read load area
The Good: Some service history, dealer till around 50k miles. Nothing nasty on HPI. 75K seems genuine. Zero visible rust. No obvious dents. Passed from Father to sister to son so history. Drives great ! Almost frighteningly fast. Alloys wheels in good nick.
Conclusion. I think this will scrub up nicely. Need to get cam belt/tensioners/pump done. Paid £1,600 prob a bit OTT but hey ! I saw someone trying to sell on 03 elite for almost £5k.
Reset it now... Been roughly 80miles in it today there and back from the MOT and average MPG on similar roads 24mpg although that's driving sensible due to the issues i have with the steering under heavy braking... Shell V-power Nitro+ petrol again i'm going to treat it on that stuff for awhile to help clear it out thats if this expensive petrol does anything at all..Omegaman, did you reset the average consumption before the journey?Ah I didn't, but still only used £50 odd for 200 miles on those type of roads mentioned, Would resetting the computer give better more accurate results ?
Yes it would as what you are seeing could be an average over several hundreds or thousands of miles
and i presume that the part would cost much more from a local VX (without TC price don't have it and none on the VX dealers accept them around this way anyway.)Don't buy cheap!!!!This one i presume
Buy the one from AllGermanParts.

yeah thanks something like that it wasWent for MOT so I could get an idea what I'm up against, Only failed on one thing to my surprise... Passenger side steering idler or something they garage didn't know the name of it... Fair but of play but not bad thought it would have failed on a list of thingshttp://www.allgermanparts.co.uk/siteimages/4/8/2/48294/406055/f_1220825.jpg
Lost your touch Rob?

thanks, i collect new engine sat, should list problems, plenty of us around to help, some wierd and wonderful solutions to problems tooWill do once I figure out what some are, odd things like sunroof open to max then close but it doesn't close fully then goes back to open press the closed position to close fully.
id rather do your list of jobs then the full engine change ive got coming up on my elite due to missis cooking itI wouldn't even entertain the idea of changing an engine or transmission I'd rather just get another Omega but that's eaisier said than done also, Anyway Best of Luck buddy
