Omega General Help / Re: Gearbox problem
« on: 25 March 2017, 11:52:43 »
Thanks guys, remind me where the clutches are, and how to adjust the brake band. :y
When the sump is removed there is a dome held on with 3 or 4 bolts. Remove it and there is a threaded screw with a lock nut, release it then tighten the screw to 5nm torque, back off five turns and then tighten the lock nut, this sets the brake band. Replace the dome then it`s a gearbox re-fill

Omega General Help / Re: omega z22xe runs poorly and rich
« on: 20 March 2017, 13:06:13 »
hello,
I bought (got from a friend) an omega 2,2 ecotec petrol z22xe. ithe idle is steady but vibrates and it revs jerky/misfire tyype from idle to 2k, up from 2k its not 100% fine but much better. limited to 4.5k revs, runs very rich and consumtion is dramatic
fault codes.

tested new maf no changes, it has no difference if the maf is pluged or unpluged, tested voltages 1pin 12v input 2pin 5input 3pin ground 4pin 0.8v output (steady not changing while opening trottle) (dont know if the maf functions by frequence or voltage changes couldnt find information) as i know the IAT sensor is incorporated in the maf for the 2.2 engine.(shouldnt it be a 5/6 pin maf than not a 4pin?) resistencis from the pins are identical for the new end old maf.
trought OBD2 live it shows a constant 153.08g/s (0g/s when unplugged) flow and -40*c intake temperature.
changed the CAM sensor no change for a while run without the 4.5k rev limit, but same engine problems. now doesnt revs again.
measured pin resistencies same for old and new sensor.
i have a broken connection for the post cat lamda heating but it should not give problems like this trought obd2 lamda1 fluctuates from .1-.9v lamda2 0.4-0.6.
checked timing belt and timing strange thing it have x20xev cam sprokets and timing belt, but the friend said he hasnt changed them while having the car and it run fine.
tried other coilpack / spark plugs no change in behavior or codes. dont see any vacuum leaks.
only strange thing other than the poor running i notice is if I screw the filler cup completly it builds vacuum or presure in the tank (it lets air in/out when unscrewed)...

ANY ideas??  ;)

Omega General Help / Re: Wheel size
« on: 13 March 2017, 15:02:35 »
Hi all...
My CD 2003 2.6 saloon has 16" wheels. Can I put 17" wheels on it. Or will other things have to be done to it.
Thanks. :y
Yep

General Car Chat / Re: Speaking of cars on the forum...
« on: 05 March 2017, 16:10:05 »
Cant remember exactly when I bought my first one. I believe it was  2007. I registered on the forum (the first time) shortly after, as it quickly became apparent that the car was riddled with problems.
With the help of the vast amount of info and knowledge on the forum I worked my way through all the problems and fixed every one of them. I then treated it to a grey leather interior - and sold it.  ;D
Including breakers, I have had another eight of them since then. My current Rubens red 3.2 elite will definitely be the last though.
Theres nowhere to go, in an upward direction, in Omega world after this one.

As a test of my memory  ::), I think the list reads as follows -
Green p/fl 2.5 v6 - daily driver.
Silver f/l 2,5 v6 lpg - daily driver.
Black 3.2 elite - broken for parts
Blue f/l 2.5 v6 elite - broken for parts
Silver f/l 3.0 elite - broken for parts
Silver 2.6 CDX estate - bought as a project, fixed up and sold.
Silver 3.2 elite - broken for parts
Rubens red 3.2 elite - used more as a weekend car than daily driver.

That`s rather a lot  ;D

Omega General Help / Re: Power steering
« on: 05 March 2017, 09:49:03 »
That number I do not have sorry to say. So your steering wheel is in left side?

No no... Mine is a RHD car (UK)... That image was the only thing I could find on google to try and explain which part I'm after.

Can't say I've seen any threads on OOF regarding this part before, Can't find anything in the search box either.

I'm currently part way through a one month free trial. Clarkson and the boys are entertaining but not a lot else takes my fancy.

Still waiting for items ordered 3 days ago. :-\
Was it listed as "Prime" delivery?

Same and no servotronic so actually pretty tidy to drive hard :y
Never had a Sport but I thought they were standard GLS suspension.  :-\
As said Chris, MV6 suspension, prodrive bootlip, prodrive front bumper, "silver" MV interior trim and seats, headlamp washers (no Hid`s)

My windows open about 1/2" then you can lock them in that position....the locking mechanism is all metal and I would like to think that even if you got a crow bar of them when in that position, you would just snap bit of plastic off without actually getting the window open.
Sorry to disillusion you but any PVCu window in the "night latch" position can be forced
