Er, i think he meant that perhaps you should do it if you,re interested in it. :-\
-
The rest of his cars are well overpriced. £7000 for a six year old astra.
-
i did ask him in the end! its R138 MWP also sent me the garages full address etc, keen to shift it on suppose?didnt think its history looked too bad considering its age now!
-
Don't know how bad this corrosion is:
Offside Rear Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded End of Sill Inner Wheel Arch (2.4.A.3)
-
A couple of hundred quid to have plates snotted on
close to the rear donut ,which holds the moving bits at the back :P
-
thats been done at this years mot though hasnt it i thought?
-
This is a dying OOF tradition, where someone posts up an ebay advert and we all pick holes in it! ;D
-

but it has a nearside Rear Suspension component mounting prescribed area too ;D which won't be much better, probably next mot time :-\

I think there will already be holes in it without us picking :D ;D

It's a rusty old barge, as most omegas are now. But, I believe, there are masochists who enjoy buying these cars, and spending weekends with oil on their hands and rust in their eyes. Each to his own.
-
your right stemo what you say, we all have to accept their getting on now and most owners of them are enthusiasts so dont mind jobs that go with them at times!
-
It's cheaper than paying some dolly bird to whip you and call you a naughty boy :-X
-
A back, sack and crack is equally enjoyable and there are plenty of women in the game. :-*

If you don't have a hairy arse, then you are not a builder. ;D

Opti said i'm not a builder anyway because i don't own a rusty transit dropside ,so not a proper builder :'(

Loads of rusty Vauxhall's though. :y
-
Have you got a ghetto blaster covered in plaster that you can annoy the f*uck out of your customers with?

I treat the rust ,before it gets bad and retire cars out if they require welding

MP3 player splashed with unibond and emulsion :-\
I don't own any antique audio , even the omega radio gram got ripped out and modernized :D ;D

It's the usual opinions of actual Omega owners versus people who have moved on yet still think we're interested in what they say, last time I looked we're on the omega "owners" forum.

If only actual omega owners posted there'd be about two a day. Both saying that their car had turned to red dust overnight. ;D
-
No
Me and Bazza have 12 months MOT ::)
and i'm sure there are others

Don't take it to heart, Dave, I'm sure your omega will last forever and find a place in classic car magazine.......or something.

Some people put their funds into trust. Some of us put our funds into rust. ;D

but the classified ads in classic car mats have largely been replaced by eBay. And then you get to deal with a bunch of timewasting hapless insolvent incompetent lieing window lickers
-
Back on to the original posting of this thread, the car has been bought by an ABS member.
Saw it yesterday and it is very nice, no rust visable anywhere, solid sills and arches
New pair of headlights in the boot
Retuning him about 35mpg at the moment
-
Yes, I was also with Keith yesterday, and looking over the car it's in excellent condition. It's been bought as project car and the new owner is extremely good at what he does by way of mechanical and general restoration. He's planning to fit a 3.0Ltr lump but knowing him it won't be standard, and as far as the body goes there's some minor cosmetic to be done, but that is one nice catch....another one saved from ending up as a scrapper :y
-
Nice to know somebody got a good buy.🎄🎄🎄
-
Yeah, nice car in the flesh, and everything works on it,knowing the guy who's bought the car, it will end up pristine and then join his collection of VX showcars. :y
-
That is a good looking example, I prefer the earlier interiors. I miss my 3.0l Elite estate I converted to manual, I have recently returned to the fold with a 3.2 estate I bought from a member on here and bought a 2.6 estate from another member at the same time which I need to get around to sorting and reselling.
-
Get it sorted sharpish, new member daveycooper is after an estate :y
-
Thanks for everyones concern.
Thought you'd interested know the car passed its MOT last week with no advisories and is running well. :y
Work required to get there.
1 x Windscreen Wiper.
1 x Foglight Bulb.
Rear number plate bulb.
Handbrake adjustment.
The car came with a pair of brand new Headlight so they were fitted with LED bulbs
The Breather Box was partially plugged and had been poorly overhauled in the past with super-glue so was replaced and there was a small water hose leak at the Climate Control valve.
The car also came with a pair of front discs and a set of rear pads and at present there is no requirement to replace.
Rust; struggling to find anything significant.
-
Glad it's gone to someone who will treat it right :y
These cars are great.....if you are an enthusiast, and you have the time and know how to keep it on the road.
I would have had another omega if someone like Serek was near to me. But most garages can't/won't work on them because they simply don't have knowledge of them. Even Vx can't be trusted, and that says a lot to me.
-
Well done :)
another one saved :y
