Omega General Help / Starting nightmare...

My tractor has recently become a nightmare to start, hot or cold.  It doesn't appear to matter what level of fuel I have in the tank either.

I can't feel any excess diesel around the injectors, so I don't feel it is the leak off hose.

Any ideas???

I have just found out that there are only 2 Crank Sensors (Vx bit) within Europe.

I have PC'd it and have Code 19 and Code 64, both of which I would consider could give me starting issues.

Help...

I have just managed to snap the tensioner trying to put the tension damper back on...

At the moment I am completely stuffed and I am hoping that someone has a tension arm that they do not require that they could let me have...

Omega General Help / 2.5TD Exhaust return pipe

I replaced the exhaust return pipe on my car about 3 months ago, I have noticed that the pipe is starting to blow again...

I was wondering if assuming the pipe has fractured again, if I would be able to blank off the return pipe, without having any detrimental effects on the engine...

Omega General Help / Strange noise at 2500 rpm

Driving my car last night, I started hearing a strange noise when I was accelerating through 2500 rpm, Investigation further today, It is under load only, there doesn't appear to be any lack of power, it does blow some black smoke accelerating through 2500 rpm (fairly hard) and again only under load.

I did a paper clip test 2 days ago and got the following fault codes..

1-9, 4-4, 4-9, 9-2 and 9-6

I know I need to re do them to see if anything new has come out,

The noise kind of sounds like a hissy growl under the engine...

Any ideas anyone?

Omega General Help / Omega trouble with Hot Start

I know that this has been asked many many times and I also know that I have commented before on things that seem to have "cured" mine in the past...

I have a chipped tractor, I replace the battery 2 years ago and the starter motor last year (under 12 months ago) and I am finding that in this hot weather the car is an absolute bugger to start.

It did seem worse when the fuel was below 20 litres, but even on a full tank is difficult.

I have read on a previous post that pouring cold water over the Fuel Pump helps, however, I found yesterday when trying this, that it didn't seem to help any (the car had been standing for 2 hours after being run and felt as though it had just been turned off).

I have looked at TIS 2000 workshop disk and found no real explanation except possible the fuel pump (on the tank).  which look a bit of a pain to replace/clean...

I would appreciate any help.  Thanks.

I have done paperclip test on the car now and the results are:-

1-9, 4-4, 4-9, 9-2 and 9-6

Omega General Help / Aircon not working.

I have looked about a bit and looked at other air con related issues, but not found anything that would appear to point me in the right direction.

Basically.  When I turn the air con on, I get the switch light on and that is about it.  I don't get any cooler air flow, no noticible increase in the revs (when idle) I can't hear anything start up in the engine bay that may be pump related either.  Any ideas???

When I had the car, the garage replace a hose at the back of the engine bay, and regassed it, but, I don't think it has ever really worked.  I don't know if there is any link, but the air recirc doesn't appear to work either.

Omega General Help / Diesel Fuel Filter.

I have just realised that it has been a while since the fuel filter was changed, so I have got the new one to go in, just wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on changing it,  or is it just a case of a strap wrench, fill the new filter with diesel and fit the new one???

I have been looking at putting the chip in my tractor to try to improve fuel economy and such.

I have seen one on ebay which seemingly would do a sufficient job.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Omega General Help / Oil leak in my tractor...

I have an oil leak on my tractor that has been there since I had it, I have scoured the engine looking for it and not found anything.  I even tried some additive to seal the hole, but, still to no avail.  I do know that it is not being burnt and that it is not the Head Gasket (no Mayo)...

Any pointers for common miggy oil leaks?

The handbrake cable snapped on my Miggy today and so I need to change it.

Could anyone give me some guidelines on how is the best and easiest way to swap the old for new as I know it was quite tricky on my old vectra a few years back...

Omega General Help / Dodgy Stop Solonoid???

When I removed the ignition key from my car earlier, the engine carried on running for a couple more minutes...  I am guessing that it is my stop solonoid starting to fail, but wondered if anyone had other ideas... Also where is it?
