2.0 ECOTEC 100kw cruise-control mounting
« on: 11 July 2009, 17:25:14 »

Hi, just bought a cruise control unit, but can't understand, how to fit it. If anyone has a cruise control on a prefacelift Omega B with 2.0 ECOTEC engine, please, could you upload a picture? And could it be, that I don't have the plug cruise-control hob? I didn't find it :S Starting to guess my 1996 Omega B GL isn't wired enough to fit it..

Not sure about Opel models, but some base UK models don't have the wiring.

It bolts to the inner wing, should see 3 studs

I've never seen a 2.0l with cruise, so not sure how bowden cable attaches to throttle

Doesn't anyone have a 2.0L with cruise-control? :S Anyway, who knows anything about CC wiring. Where do those cables run from the hob and from the servo?

If I remember correctly PJ Morgan's elite with the retro fitted 2.0 has cruise. Buggered if I can remember how it's fitted though.

Is PJ Morgan a user in here or what? :P Sorry, didn't quite get what you meant.

Anyway, if I don't have the wiring, would it be possible to take it from another car and fit it to mine? Or should I just wire it somehow by myself. I have the hardware and it shouldn't be impossible to make it work. At least it should hold the speed, don't care so much about increase/decreas and other functions..

This picture material is the best of what I could have hoped for :) Thank you very much! But unfortunately it seems I don't have the wiring :( Now I'm trying to find out, if it's possible to fit the wiring myself, or is the whole cabling of the car in one piece. Hope it's not. Thank you so much for the pictures!

In the UK, we have the Haynes manual, which has a wiring diagram in.  Its not very clear, but I could try to take hi-res pic if it helps

Oh, I think I should have it somewhere on my HDD. Thanks for the tip, I'll see if it's of any use. Don't bother yourself with picturing it :)
