Thanks  Kevin...that was the line I was going down but thought better to just have it confirmed.
As mine would seem to be dying slowly think I will find a second hand ecu and go from there as should be a lot cheaper just to replace..and if that is faulty will have a spare to have refurbished if it comes to that.Assume once done it will require Tech2 resetting so might be worth holding onto the climate panel till I get around to doing ecu first and then kill 2 bits in 1 go.
Where did you get that swivel racket tool as looks an easier option.

Not necessarily. If you get a 2nd hand ECU from a car with the same spec. it will work straight off with no Tech 2.

Obviously if you get your own ECU refurbed it will retain the correct configuration. It's only if you get a new ECU or one from a different spec. car that this will be required.

It's also worth bearing in mind that lots of these ECUs are failing so a 2nd hand one is prone to suffering the same fate. A refurbed ECU would give more confidence that you're not going to have to repeat the job a bit further down the line, but it will obviously take longer and cost a bit more.

BBA do turn them round pretty quickly though.
