I did quite like the Ranger. Bigger and higher up than I expected.  :y
Really, really popular in these parts over the last 2 or 3 years.  Not sure if its the HS2 mongrels, or all the workmen from the building estates.

There must be some really good tax efficient lease deals about.

Earlier in the year some neighbours did a major remodelling job to their house and for 6 months our road was full of vans and Rangers.

Bros last company car was a Ranger. Something like 125% write off over a year.

Between the VaT rebate and the stonking deal they got on it as pre registered, the company made a few quid on it just from buying it. Think the rebated was MRRP rather than actual purchase price.

Hope that it won't take as long as the 'project' around the corner from me. Been going for around two years and the roof trusses have just been put in.

Same round here. Doing the school drop off this morning, probably 60% of cars were either EVs or Ford Rangers (wierdly no other pick-up type seems acceptable  ???).

Rats & Mice love Ford Rangers, my mate has had his electric wiring eaten twice by rodents , apparently they are attracted to a lot of modern vehicles.

Vaguely remember reading about some chemical or similar used in production of wiring now that attracts them.  :-\

I'm always optimistic Dave.  Once we're past the longest night it all downhill to Spring, and another couple of weeks we'll start noticing the lighter evenings.  :y

Anyway haven't you heard of climate change?  ???

That's why we haven't had a winter tyre thread recently.  :D

I've had to scrape the "global warming" off my windows many mornings  :P

The new tyres are B rated wet grip ,ready  for the return of persistent rain AFTER the ice age  :D
the compound seems "soft" so probably won't last long  :-\ but my rear tyres never last anyway ,
The rears always wear more on the inner edge (weight of the bodies in the boot  ::))
and i sack them off when they are down to 3 to 4 mm

but that's ok, tyres are a "consumable item"
i've got 3 sets of wheels for My omega  ;D

I get about 20,000 miles, or 12 months, out of my tyres. Mid range American thingies. Hard to make the front wheels let go on an auto.

Not that I'd want to, of course.

The Rainsports on the rear of my V70 have done at least 30,000 miles, maybe nudging 40,000 and they still have 5-6mm!  :y

The Astras don't do many miles , Mrs Builder drives like she stole it and gets similar wear to you , 20000 miles over 3 years
she's got Goodyear Vector 4 season gen 3 (about £80 a corner)
I'm not doing burn-outs or driving like a mentalist  :-\
my rear tyres don't last
(Hunter hawkeye checked not long ago, so it's not alignment issues)
I've tried all sorts of tyres too ,Pirelli P7, goodyear efficient grip  ,Avon zv7,roadstone eurovis sport,  DAVANTI DX390
so i'm NOT buying Goodyear Vector 4 season gen 3 for mine at £170 per corner  :o
