Alarm issues?
« on: 03 August 2011, 13:00:31 »

Over the past week the indicator lights have started flashing on and off when I have locked the car, walked away and have come back to it after some time.
It seems like the alarm is going off, but I have disconnected the power sounder so I am unsure.

Has anyone else experienced this strange problem?

Bend the bonnet switch bracket up or disconnect

When you say Disconnect it - literally just unplug the switch and leave it?
(Wrap the wires up etc.)

Yes.  :y When the bonnet opens, the switch closes, so if the switch is unplugged the alarm will never know that the bonnet has been opened. If this fixes your fault, then you know that the fault has been due to the bonnet switch. Another 'fault' is often caused during the summer when the bonnet flexes due to getting hot, if the bonnet has only just opened the contacts inside the switch, then the bonnet flexes when hot it can then close the switch contacts making the alarm think that the bonnet has been opened.  :y
