Helped on the outside?

Helped by someone on the inside.

It is like something from Porridge!

Somebody got very sloppy somewhere , doesn't surprise me though , I once did a delivery to Durham prison , a lot of the staff were people where English was not their first language  :(

Theyve caught him. Escaping is one thing, but if you dont have things lined up for when you do, then people will see you and it will probably be a short holiday.

Disappointing outcome , considering the effort he made to escape , I thought he might have had a plan in place rather than hiding in Chiswick !   :y

I half expected him to have gone to the Iranian embassy, and pop up on their TV next week, talking about how evil the West is.

I bet that all the embassies of unfriendly countries, especially Iran, were carefully watched and staked out.

Having delivered to various "High security" establishments, Prison are not very throug with vehicles leaving,"they will be now"   Familiarity breeds contempt, will find the bidfoods goes there every day, same driver, sees certain staff members every day. Possibly gets a cup of tea from kitchen..  It's sometimes harder to get in and out of discount superstores than Military bases..

The escapee should never have been in a cat B establishment, there are absolutely no excuses for whoever made that decision anyone who is a threat to the security of the UK should always be in a category A prison, will heads roll ?  Security may be stepped up obviously, but with the lack of experienced staff it will not last for long. I received a phone call a couple of months ago from HMPS HQ asking if wished to express  an interest in returning to my establishment ! At 69 years of age absolutely ridiculous. The educated idiots that make decisions paid all us " dinosaurs" off to modernise the service & the results are starting to show.

Good point about will anyone be sacked.

The cost to the nation would no doubt have been immense.for the manhunt. With resources diverted, other crimes would go unmanaged or not even investigated.

I wager that massive cost would have paid a for few more employees for a few years.   When will they learn.
