I would not expect this from a British company, but then...

According to documents unearthed by Bloomberg, AOG Technics was formed in 2015 and is majority-owned by 35-year-old Jose Zamora Yrala. The company has a few million dollars in assets as of early 2022 and Yrala lists his nationality as Venezuelan on some documents, and British on others. The company has a website, but it appears to be down—not the usual trait of a legitimate business and business owner.

Between them, IACO, FAA, CAA and EASA would be quick to shut down access to the business in order to prevent any further supply of hooky parts.

Having seen the quality of some legitimate aftermarket trim parts, it doesn't surprise me that they were able to make a business out of it. The hardest part is keeping the paperwork in order.

Presumably they were caught out by repeated premature component failures as the system relies on failure patterns to highlight potential issues.

Surprised, or not, that it's taken a month for the media to report anything...
