« on: 25 November 2014, 12:14:27 »
Just bought this very cheap.
Low mileage, new wheels and tyres...very clean.

Sounds bloody amazing for what it is!
Anyone had a drive in one? what are they like?

Omega General Help / 2001 3.2 MV6 No heat from drivers side?
« on: 29 October 2014, 09:09:44 »
My MV6 has stopped blowing heat from the drivers side (downwards floor position) now just blows cold.
Also cold from all the front facing vents and the upwards screen vents also don't feel very warm? they do clear the screen though.
The passenger foot well does get nice and warm.

Any help guys  :y

Omega Gallery / Hope you enjoy some of these!
« on: 20 October 2014, 22:44:52 »
I've been very lucky over the past few years and many vehicles have passed through my fingers!
Every one has been paid for via hard work and never financed.
Some are big some are small, some are fast and some are slow.......
All in all I have owned hundreds of vehicles, here are some I still have photos of as I had a huge PC meltdown about a year ago resulting in a massive loss of family photos etc (learned my lesson and now back up every week)
Anyway some of you will love them, some like them and a few may even hate some of them, but I hope you can see my love of vehicles and also the attention to detail and love I give each and every one :y
Wife's in a couple also  :D
Here is my album:

Omega General Help / Irmscher style front grille?
« on: 09 October 2014, 09:05:24 »
Are the pre facelift and facelift the same shape/size front grille?
Seen a few on the bay but they say 1994 - 99?

If not can anyone point me to one that will fit a 2001  :y

Does anyone know if the V6 thermostat tubes are all the same size across the V6 range?
I know the 2.5 and 3.0 have a different part number to the 2.6 and 3.2 but are they the same?

Omega General Help / V6 timing belt and DVD cam timing question?
« on: 06 October 2014, 09:09:09 »
Just done the timing belt and water pump on my 2001 3.2 MV6.
Hired the locking kit and also already had the Omega V6 Cambelt dvd from when I did my Vectra V6.
I used a Gates powergrip kit.
When you start off and your timed up, you line up the two white lines on the belt with the TDC crank mark then use the wedge to stop the belt moving.
But no way could I get the 4 x cam white lines on the belt to line up with cam markings! Why is this? wrong belt?
Also on the Dvd after the belt is fitted, the idlers are set to 12 oclock and 3 oclock, and the tensioner tensioned.
You turn the engine over until up to TDC again, check the timing and then adjust bank 3+4 with the bottom idler and 1+2 with the top idler.
The DVD shows the crank lock tool fitted only when adjusting both banks and what I found was after adjusting bank 3+4 you must fit the cam locking tool on that bank before adjusting 1+2 otherwise when you do adjust 1+2 it also moves 3+4.
Any info on this?

The car is back together again and runs sweet  :y

Has anyone bothered removing there tax disc following October 1st new rules?

Quote:
'If you have any remaining months left on your current paper tax disc from 1 October 2014, you can either remove the tax disc from your vehicle or display the disc until it expires'.

Going to do the timing belt and water pump on my 2001 MV6 3.2 V6 at the weekend.
Done a couple of these before and borrow the locking tool kit from Autovaux.
Which kit would you guys recommend....Gates or Contitech?
My car has done just over 30,000 miles since the last belt change and after having a look at the weekend the belt is now showing tiny signs of cracking to the belt.

Gates or Contitech?

Omega General Help / V6 Power steering pump type info.
« on: 27 September 2014, 11:14:25 »
After buying a pre used power steering pump for my 2001 3.2 V6 and it turning out to be the wrong one, I thought I would share some info I found out after.
Many of you will already know this info but like me some may not and it will save you the hassle I went through.
if you have power steering problems before taking the pump off have a good look at the pump fittings.
Early Omega 3.2 V6 and 2.6 V6 were still using the old stock 2.5 V6 and 3.0 V6 power steering pumps.
The way to tell is:
Older type 2.5 V6 and 3.0 V6

Newer type 2.6 V6 and 3.2 V6

Older type 2.5 V6 and 3.0 V6

Newer type 2.6 V6 and 3.2 V6

Physically the pumps both fit as the mounting holes are in the same place.
You could fit a new length of rubber pipe to the reservoir but the early threaded pipe and banjo fitting are different!
The threaded early pipe will actually screw into the later banjo thread but will leak due to the depth of the fitting!

If this helps one person from buying the wrong pump it was worth the effort  :y
(Maybe this could be added on to this thread?)

Is it possible maybe via software to turn of the check light and messages?
or maybe remove a wire/s?
I've got the low beam message and have seen all the fix's on here but wondered if it was possible to turn it off?
