Alright fellas, been many years since I posted here and I hope your all doing well, but then again its been many years since I owned an Omega! Recently it was my wife’s 40th birthday and on the lead up to it I spent so much time asking her what she wanted for her birthday. Well, and as wife’s do she hummed and hared about it never giving me a straight answer, so I wrestled with her undeceive moods for ages leading up to the day. 3 weeks before her birthday I said ‘Hun, what would really make your birthday, what can I get you that would make it worth wile’ She then said that she would love to relive the days before we had the kids and would love a facelift 97-99 Omega Elite. I thought, ok, easy, there must be loads of them about. How wrong I was. I spent those 3 weeks looking for the car, came across Elite,s with rotten bodywork rotted wheel arches, some that had been in the hands a wannabe racers with stupid cone filters on them, weeping rocker covers on both sides, idiots trying to sell me CDX,s with Elite trim, even had one 2ltr GLS with the Elite interior tying to fob me off . Basically every motor I came across was a horror story. I just couldn’t find the right car in time, so as an alternative I bought her a 1998 Volvo C70 T5 GT which she was pleased with, not an Omega Elite but from the same era so she was happy with it. Its only on retrospect that I realise that I should have come back the this forum first in search of an 90s, Elite. I should have asked you guys first, but as I have a memory like a leaky boat I forgot about this forum until now, 5 days after her birthday, lol. Always the bloody way, this dam T5 leaks cash and fluids far more than any Elite we used to own. Again, should have remembered you guys in the first place.
