Omega General Help / Re: Noisy Power Steering Help Please :)
« on: 19 April 2014, 17:01:47 »
Hi!

Thank you for your replies. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

After I topped up the power steering fluid, the noise went away. It wasn't empty, but was about an inch below the marking, so I topped up to the marking and seems ok now.

Thank you for taking the time to reply :)

Omega General Help / Noisy Power Steering Help Please :)
« on: 18 April 2014, 09:47:17 »
Hi!

I've searched the threads for this but not sure if I've found the correct info.

When I turn the steering wheel right, there is a whining noise. Then it carries on as I'm driving in a straight line. When I parked up, I turned the steering wheel both ways (not full lock) and it was quite noisy.

I've just topped up power steering fluid, but not driven yet.

Do you think I need a new pump or do you think there may be another underlying problem?

My wishbones were replaced recently, not sure if that has any bearing on this question.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Paul :)

Great! Thank you :)

I think I've fixed it as I saw other posts about poking a screwdriver in the bottle to move the sensor, which I did, and it seems to have resolved the problem for now, which I'm quite pleased about :)

Hi

I've just had a similar problem with my Miggy.

It's too hot to check the ball at the moment and I've not checked the sensor wire yet either.

Is it still safe to drive with the 'Check' light on? It won't cause the engine to stop will it or the engine management light to come on?

Thanks, Paul :)

Hi

Apologies if this has already been asked.

I recently replaced my catalytic converter which I bought from Euro Car Parts and they supplied a gasket for the manifold which was diamond shaped but the holes were in the wrong place to bolt on, so it was blowing quite a bit. I asked for the part from All German Car Parts and they sent me a gasket with two holes in it as opposed to one hole for the cat. So I went to Jayar Car Parts and they told me for the 2000, it should be just a ring around the the hole and not a diamond shape gasket. So I bought it, but it's too big and my exhaust is still blowing.

Does anyone know where I can get the correct part? Do I need to get it direct from Vauxhall?

Many thanks,

Paul :)

General Discussion Area / Liquid nicotine e-cigs help
« on: 18 March 2014, 19:55:26 »
Hi!

I have recently started 'vaping' with liquid e-cigs. I was a 40 a day smoker! I'm getting on well with these but I'm having difficulty in finding liquid nicotine supplies and wondered if any of you may know where I can get some from? I live near Ipswich in Suffolk and got hold of my new e-cig when I was in Cambridge.

The brand is ColinsS and the flavour I have at the moment is Rockwood Tobacco. I'm after any tobacco flavour as I don't see the point in vaping with banana, vanilla, bubble gum or any other flavour.

Hope someone can help me :)

Thanks, Paul :)

Meetings, gatherings, parties etc / Re: Suffolk meet up??

I only live around the corner from you, well... Sutton Heath ;)

Mine's the very, very dirty  :-[ Blue Irmscher estate :y

Not sure I'll get a chance to come to a meet but if you manage to get something arranged I'll see what I can do :y

My wife's grandparents live at Sutton Heath! You will possibly see my Omega about there when visiting them :)

I think I have seen it several times, both on the estate and on the Heath roads

Possibly. My sister has her horses at the stables by the Sutton Heath turning and I sometimes take her and pick her up :)

And the code is 105
Yes 3 button and 105

Great! Thank you :) I've got to save some pennies and then I'll look further into it :)

Thank you all for your replies :)

I dont think I paid anything like that Blade from bay cut at locksmith programmed at main dealer £50 £60 total

Oh wow! That sounds like a great price!! I have the three button fob, is that what you have?

..... I thought going to Vx direct may cost quite a bit though.

I think you're looking at around £100 all in. Compared to the £225 that Merc charges, it's quite cheap!  ::)  ;)

Wow! That is cheap in comparison!  :o

Just make sure you get the right blade. Should be a number stamped on it IIRC

105  :y

Thank you :) She's only about 20 mins away now so I'll have a look soon. I was sold the car with only one key and the guy I bought it from said he bought it with only one key. So I'm just after the cheapest way of getting a spare. I thought going to Vx direct may cost quite a bit though.
