Alarm
« on: 07 September 2015, 19:22:00 »

Taking the well worn advice on here I removed the power sounder some time ago,but I noticed last week-something/someone must have set it off-that the indicators were flashing as though the hazards were switched on-unlocking/locking the car stopped this-but there was no sound. So with power sounder removed should this be the case or should the cars ordinary horn sound too?

The ordinary car horns won't sound but isn't there an electric horn next to the power sounder  :-\

There is.
My late facelift had symptoms as described - I found that the horn didn't work so I bought a new one from VX.

The alarm horn (not the main car horns) is quite unreliable, if its not sounding, replace it.

If you remove the power sounder because of leaking batteries  it still possible for the alarm horn next to it to go off and if it does go off does that mean that it is faulty. :-\

If the alarm horn goes off, its because the ATWS has detected what it thinks is activity it is designed to detect.
