There are quite a few similar programs out there

'distributed computing' is the techy name

Some are more 'worthwhile' than others

I use one looking to cure cancer

Ive lost faith in Norton, had several virusus it hasnt known about.
I use AVG and norton at the moment (until subscription runs out).

Also look at kaspersky anti virus (http://www.kaspersky.com) , thats meant to be good, and there is a 30 day free trial so you can see if you like it.

I also run anti spyware frequently - adaware (http://www.lavasoft.de)

All helps keep a nice clean system.

This will annoy a few im sure, but I'm loving Tesco's super unleaded at the mo,
Very good, up with Vpower, prefer it to esso or bp's offerring, and its cheap, esp with 5p a litre off with your shopping, Ive just filled up at 83.9 per litre!
I hate the ordinary stuff though, car runs horrible on that.
I do think vpower is better than optimax as well.

However this is in 4 pot's, the father-in-laws Cav v6 runs about the same on anything (even petrol-diesel mix! he has a van as well and sometimes gets em mixed up!)

Shut the boot, and.....Crack, ooooooo, pretty windsceen patterns!

Ok, I use one called NETOP, works very well, not much bandwidth needed, has clients for windows, dos, unix, mac, os/2 etc etc etc, ive tried loads, this is the best to me,  Works great for controlling my home pc from work ;) , as well as 2nd pc from a 1st.  If you want to talk further about it, pm me.

Good luck

Did you think about the software solution, with 1 host pc, the others as 'guests'  The one I use has versions that will run on most platforms?

fyi....If you are now looking at a different approach, may I suggest a look at some of the viewsonic monitors, mine is a VP191B (off top of head) which as 1 dvi and 2 vga connections, thats 1 monitor on 3 computers! (good selection on www.overclockers.co.uk normally), that would just leave you needing KM switch (or KVM but ignore the weak V part).

Ive used a lot, including installing data centre solutions for a large bank, talking units from £50 to £10000, and to be honest they are not great.

Have you thought about a software solution?  ie using remote control software over a network?

I think this will work out much cheaper for you, and you will probably be happier with the results.

Biggest problem ive had with kvm is picture quality, its ok for business apps, but not much more than that, another issue can be the mouse, they often need re-syncing because the mouse doesnt match the cursor movement.

If you want to take this to PM i may be able to recommend you some software.
This solution may or may not suit your requirements, If you can have 1 computer on, to use to access the others, then its fine.  If you want to just use computer 3 today, 4 tomorrow etc, then its not so good.

Well, it didn't sell again!

I wonder if they will drop the price before re-listing again

No probs,
Teased the previous owner a bit asking 'awkward' questions ;)
not advertising xpc etc, bit naughty.
Got fed up in the end and said 'best if I just see the car to see if it fits my needs'
didn't bother though, cos could see they didnt want to budge on price.
If I could have quickly found a buyer for my mazda I would have probably had it at the original £1300.

I can't get at all my pm's from vxon to tell you more sorry cos my old id 'kind of' got banned for pm'ing anyone who started a topic like 'new omega owner needs help'  ;).....guess someone didnt like the help I suggested.

Tis a guaranteed good car that one, nearly bought it a few weeks ago....

The history
boozy_nights's old car from vxon, ask him about it.
he got rid cos he (well his wife,) needed something bigger.
sold on ebay for 1300
bought by a 'sarahs_angels' I think who kept it about a month
not at that funny looking dealer who sells more busses than anything!

here are some 'old links' to it
search on boozy's posts to see its problems.
Ive spoke to him since he sold it so he would have no need to alter truths about it.
off top of memory 1 heated seat doesnt work, 1 rear seat doesnt match.

previous sales of this car...
