Omega General Help / Omega Starting Problems
« on: 13 September 2007, 09:16:16 »
How do everyone,
I have recently had a few starting problems with my Omega 2.2 Auto.
Having had the RAC out to my car outside my house he was 90%
certain that the cause was a faulty camshaft sensor even though no
warning light was not appearing on the dashboard.
I took the gamble and had a new camshaft sensor fitted and now the
car is starting first time. However, when the car is now started
for the first time the warning light (this looks like a spanner on top of a car)
now appears. If I stop and restart the car the warning light disappears.
I was wondering why the light was not coming on in the first place to
suggest the camshaft was indeed faulty? and why when the new sensor is now fitted
does the light come on intermittently?
Does the warning system need to be reset as you would do with a PC when a new
device fitted??
I would very grateful if anyone has any answers to the questions above.
Thanks in advance.
Andy
