Got the Omega window mechanism working on The Austin, O what fun was had. Made 20x20 box into 20x8 with a slot up middle (as per the size of the adjustable bit) and welded a plate to it that bolts to the VW channel that fits to the glass. First side took 2 days but drivers side less than one day as I knew what to do/make. Getting very close to a road test now.

The seats fought back, they fitted before but had to wrangle them to fit. Vinyl paint still tacky as well. PIA for me to post pics on here.

Painted the Astra GTE seats that are going in the Austin Omega, they were grey and its all black inside. Fabric spray made it feel a bit "crispy" I will see how it is after drying overnight. I do have black leather to cover them but cant get them done in time for its maiden hot rod show trip.

Took a Yeti full of rubbish from my unit to the skips, lots of cardboard from new parts for the Austin. I can now open the other door without a landslide! Front wheels in car as well to get balanced when I pick up the rear wheels with new boots on today. Not long now before shakedown runs, bleed the brakes again with only some minute bubbles from front caliper and suspect that was being sucked in around nipple threads. Brake solid but goes quite soft with servo, normal for Omega?

The only reason Trump bombed Iran was to try and raise his popularity rating as it was down to 40% and dropping. Thing is it looks like it has had the opposite effect!!

I have the same trouble so have to take care, well I did some to the Austin today. Its insured and I got most of the remaining bits painted, only got 5 flies in the paint!!! Little bit to finish off tomorrow and then assembly time.

Yes thats what I thought, I checked wiring dia and it just feeds ABS from same wire as feed to brake lights. I checked for continuity and that was fine. More head scratching then.

Omega General Help / Quick question

Live data says engine running lean, I know I can smell it. Bank1 and 2 say 128 when cold and 134 when hot what ever that is. Says rich if I rev it, no intake leaks I could find, idle speed spot on , temp gauge matches scanner and no exhaust leaks. Any ideas?

Yes but now it says brake switch fault but that works , checked the wiring and all looks okay. Brakes do need bleeding as a bit long travel when servo working. Only 2 wires on switch by the way.

Quite a lot on the Austin, sorted the ABS "fault" . Works better with an earth wire on the pump motor! Checked all the suspension bolts, top up diff but cant get plug out of gearbox not that it lost any oil while out. Lots of other stuff done but have to make blanking plates for the air injection holes in n/s exhaust as it looks like my blanking grub screws failed.

Its working, yup works better with the earth lead on the motor!!!! I know why I missed it as unit fitted before engine and it was hidden, only saw it today as doing some checking /snagging jobs and was lay underneath.

Well neither my scanner or Ds modern one will support activation of pump, tried to get the relays out to bridge pump feed but only the top came off one (not the one I wanted) and the other refuses to budge. D will see if the folks he sends ABS units to can fix this one on Monday.
