ive spoke to quite a few people over this. trading standards are going to look into this and vosa are going to investigate the last 2 testing stations who last carried out the mots. they seem to think a fraud has taken place. no wonder ive had so many leaks (i.e oil and cooling) in such a short time of buying this car. im a bit gutted to be honest and now know in future i can check the car through this site to see if there is anything when buying another car.

i dont seem to be having much luck lately  :( :(

I bought a Rover 800 from my mate a few years back, which he bought from a guy in Derby & when i had probs with the heater blower i removed the glove box only to find an old MOT with around 100,000 miles less than the speedo read. I rang my mate & we had a right good laugh about it.
It's more common than you think & all too easy to change the miles

not uncommon on omegas.  1 in 4 cars on road are clocked.  Omega (particularly prefacelift) wears very well, so easy for traders to wind 50k off and nobody will notice.

Looked at several myself before I bought MV6 where last couple of MOTs and current reading didn't tie up.  If no history (or history in the post excuse), rang previous owner.  My experience then was probably 2 in 5 Omegas were definately showing inconsistent reading....

That's probably a bit too much information up there for t'internet - I just browsed in as a guest and there's enough there to clone your car good'n'proper  :o

Nice site though - mine varies slightly from what I thought too  :-/

 :o

Not often you see an emissions fail on visible smoke.

Richie,

Edit your post and ****** out the part of the reg and chassis numbers quickly!! This is plenty of info to clone the car and give you even more headaches!!!  :o :o :o :o

Sorry to hear your bad luck... TBH I don't pay a lot of attention to the mileage on cars, I look at the wear!  :y :y

my facelift is on 109k now, you could set it to 55k and your average buyer would think its genuine!
