V70 is FWD though so just towing the rears along.I get about 20,000 miles, or 12 months, out of my tyres. Mid range American thingies. Hard to make the front wheels let go on an auto.I've had to scrape the "global warming" off my windows many mornings
Anyway haven't you heard of climate change?
That's why we haven't had a winter tyre thread recently.
The new tyres are B rated wet grip ,ready for the return of persistent rain AFTER the ice age
the compound seems "soft" so probably won't last long but my rear tyres never last anyway ,
The rears always wear more on the inner edge (weight of the bodies in the boot )
and i sack them off when they are down to 3 to 4 mm
but that's ok, tyres are a "consumable item"
i've got 3 sets of wheels for My omega
Not that I'd want to, of course.
The Rainsports on the rear of my V70 have done at least 30,000 miles, maybe nudging 40,000 and they still have 5-6mm!
Also, there are two types of rain sensors, for UV and non UV windscreen ( which I learned the hard way)Believe that is a Tech II setting. I've had the same physical Sensor fitted to both standard and Heat Reflective windscreens without issue.
Had my Range Rover TDV8 for just over 4 years now, only repairs I've had are all four central locking actuators replaced soon after I purchased it, my indie is adamant that I will never have to replace them again & so far so good, it came with four folders of maintenance history & every MOT from new it goes in for a service & MOT every August and apart from the usual checks tyres and fluid levels I don't do anything. Get somebody who knows these vehicles inside & out and they're fantastic, for £7,000 I think I've landed an absolute bargain. Would I buy a newer one ? Definitely not I'll run this one till something catastrophic occurs & be grateful I have had the opportunity to own one, on the other hand of course I could peg out before the RRS does..😂
Changed the battery in MrsT's 2016 Zafira Tourer, was the original GM one. Not bad going I guess. Easy job.
Unlike the BMW, where when I come to do that, apparently I need to code it/link it with Bimmerlink/bimmercode. Luckily it had a new one fitted at purchase, so should be good for a few years.
Same on the Grand Coupe -> Fatter and more low profile.
Front: 225/40/19
Rear: 255/35/19
BMW use a variety of tyres as factory fit. It could be Continental, Michelin or Bridgestone etc, it’s pot luck what you get. I had Bridgestone S001’s on one of mine and I didn’t like them at all. I could easily upset it on fast corners on uneven tarmac. Tyres that are approved for them usually have the bmw logo next to them.
Hyundai Genesis. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202310142987375.
Or just give it up and buy a range Rover. You know you want to, plus it will be funny.
I'd second that get a Range Rover & stuff the MPG.
Misinformed or not, the spin on filters don't snap in half when they're over tightened and can be removed far more easily than the caps. And if you're changing the oil every couple of months, why not simplify the process
They keep comeing up with these silly ideas. They put speed limiters on cars to stop them going over 155MPH. Bet Tech 2 could sort that.
I feel mine is slow to dip itself, but still seems quicker than most oncoming drivers.
Auto lights are fooled by fog.
Auto wipers have always been shite (fortunately ours are adjustable sensitivity).
Its all causing people to forget how to drive.
And dont get me started on utter stupidity like DRLs and stop-start.
