General Discussion Area / Anti Freeze Question
« on: 26 May 2007, 06:47:13 »
Can I use Vx Red Antifreeze in Mrs. AA's clit?

It says to use, quote 'Ethylene-glycol based antifreeze (AL Glaecol type C coolant)'.

General Discussion Area / Black Sealant
« on: 11 May 2007, 16:45:21 »
My mate has a 98, 2.0 estate with leaking cam covers.

He went to his local Vx dealer and purchased a new gasket, asked them for the black sealant.

They said what do you want the black sealant for? He said because my mate (me) said that you need it if you change the cam cover gasket.

They said your mate is talking a load of rubbish, you don't need any sealant, we don't use any.

Anyway, he insisted, and they sold him some.

Moral, if you live in or near Litchfied, don't let the local dealer change your cam cover gaskets.

Oh! and by the way, they have another branch near Walsall.

Be warned!

General Discussion Area / Your careing dealer?
« on: 22 April 2007, 13:52:06 »
Until January 2006 I had always had my car regularly services by a dealer, I won't name them, but you don't have to 'Look' very far.

After that I have always done the serviceing myself, with major jobs done by Mark.

The first time I came to change the oil, I had to get the sump plug off using a breaker bar, and the oil filter off using a filter wrench.

In January 2007, MOT time, I let a different dealer change the oil and filter, to get my service book stamped.

3 months on, oil change due, and guess what, breaker bar to remove the sump plug, almost completely knackered (good job I'd got a new one), and filter wrench to remove the oil filter.

Why did I bother for the sake of getting my service book stamped. >:(
