RWD is definately the way forward. Since owning my Omega's I cant see myself wanting to go back to FWD, unless it really is a bloody good car!! Switch the traction off, drop a couple of gears and listen to the V6 sing around those bends  :D

RWD and 4WD give a far superior and refined ride.

Yep, done that, many years ago, in an old RWD Alfa Romeo in the wet, a small sideways power slide that very quickly became a 180 degrees turn and a beautiful backwards slide into a bus stop... luckily it was 1am so the bus stop was empty, but the Alfa needed a new boot. The bus company, on the other hand, needed a new bus stop...  ;D

I'm so old, I haven't even attempted a handbrake assisted u-turn in my MV6. Yet.

Well I have only ever written-off one car (so far hehe), an Alfasud ti (and a very nice car it was too!)

I crashed the other Alfa - a RWD Alfetta - twice (the bus stop was one of them - a head-on collision with a Ford Fiesta with four pensioners who luckily escaped un-harmed was the second) - but on both occasions it was repaired and I finally sold it in working order.

But that all happened 25 years ago!  ;D

And yes, the Alfas were great fun to drive... a nightmare to maintain though...  :(
