Hi guys

hope you all had a merry Christmas and will have a good new year.

Now for the problem my car is In the garage for a head replacement and this morning I was told that they had a problem as i have had a brand new head and valves the only to do was to transfer the springs ,tappets and cams into the new head from the old one.The garage said it is  all fitted until they attempted the turn the engine and it would not turn and said it turned ok when they slightly undid the cam bolts are they doing something wrong or do I need brand new cams.

Omega General Help / cylinder head replacement
« on: 20 October 2014, 09:47:13 »
hi guys

just to ask if anyone knows where I can get a cylinder head from for a 2.2 2002 engine number z22xe and anyone that can fit it

my fault entirely I had 2 broken studs and I tried to  drill out and tap but it has gone all wrong I was more worried about drilling through the head into the water jacket I got one stud in but it just turns when I try and tighten the nut around so it is not sealing.

at the moment I have sealed with holts exhaust gum.
I have had enough I just want it sorted.

is it easy to change a cylinder head as I know you need to change the head gasket and bolts.

please help

I have put brand new studs in the ones i have got out but cannot get the 2  broken ones out.
as time was against me I put holts fire gum  where the 2 studs should be and put the car back together for the time being.
is there anyone who can help me get the studs out  as I honestly do not know where to start. I will pay for your time if not does anybody know where a good honest garage is that will do it.

hi everyone

please can someone please help me I have a 2.2cd petrol automatic on start up it is very noisy  but calms down after a little while also makes like a tapping noise under acceleration you can hear it when you pass obstacles. I have also noticed in my loads of service records that the timing belt was last changed in 2008. I know that these cars belts need to be changed every 40,000mls or 4 years whichever is sooner. it is now if the records are correct 6 yrs.

I really do not want to be cheeky but is there anyone on here that can help me. I need the timing belt and water pump changed urgently  as I am now terrified to drive it in case it goes. also where would I get a quality timing belt and water pump  from as Vauxhall want over £180.

If anyone has the parts or knows where you can get them cheap please let me know and anyone that can fit them for a fee

I know this sounds really cheeky but I do not intend it to be so honestly I am just desperate.  :'(

if anybody wants to help I live in Birmingham but will travel.

Many thanks.
