Giving a friendly wave......
« on: 17 December 2012, 12:28:58 »

Hello to all here!

Richard is my name and very new here, and decided that it would be a good idea to join this forum as I have just treated myself!

There is a change of job in the air come the New Year, and this will mean the loss of my company car. So needing something affordable and yet comfortable, I have just bagged myself a 2000 'V' reg Omega CD auto estate, with the 2.5 V6 petrol engine. 12 months MOT and a 12 month parts and labour warranty for £695.00 I thought was a good deal. The warranty seems to be a bargain as on the way home, a slight 'hesitation' when accellerating (not bad enough to be called a misfire, I think) followed by the smell of burning oil appears to indicate the classic (as you seem to call it here) cam cover gasket(s) leaking and interfering with the ignition electrics. But apart from that (and a curious rear electric window gremlin which I am off to the general help section to seek help for) it drove back a real treat.

Having been a long time fan of much older big Vauxhalls (Victors, Ventoras etc) I am pleased to once more be in one of their luxo-barges, and also to making some new contacts and friends here.

Can I wish all here a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years, and maybe I will get to meet a few of you soon.

Regards, Richard.
