Title: Central Locking
Post by: Mr Skrunts on 14 October 2023, 01:36:25
After a flat battery the Central Locking seems to be doing random things.

So basicaly, doors might unlock all or just one lock,  if when locked they pop open again, Not the same every time.

I know there are resetting options for the windows, the sunroof etc, is there a reset for the Central locking.?

Is it in the owner's manual?

Something like open the car, get in and close the door,.key to position 1 and press the lock button on the fob?

There is no reset for locking.  There is a resin procedure for when the fob gets out of sync with the car (they use rolling codes fro security), which is what DG explains above.

If the fob is "working" in that one or more door locks respond, then your issue is not that it needs a resync.  Far more likely either than battery is 3 parts flat in the car, or you have some semi-shagged door motors.

None of which is mutually exclusive  ;)

Could faulty door contact switches also cause issues? Pretty certain that the system bounces the respective door locks if it thinks that a door is open :-\

Certainly some diagnosis to be done ;)

Will stick to the old fashioned way then and just use the key.

The car doesnt get used much so maybe connections just need unpluging and refiting.

A friend once did something shutting the passenger door and trying to lock it at the same time and jammed the lock,  that was sorted manually after getting advice from here using a big pair of pliers ::)

Since then the passenger lock worked on a few occasions and refused to work since..

The cars 20 years old so really cant complain :y

A few years ago maybe.  My health has got the better of me so now I am too tight to pay some one to fix things.

I'm sure you will be reminded when you post up in a few months that you can't get in the car because all the doors are locked ;D

Personally, I suffer badly with CBA...

With some imagination they might get the door open, but that won't fix much of anything.
