I used to competitively race electric off-road buggies
We're talking of the era when the original Schumacher CAT came out.

Re-attached the roller garage double door whose screws went AWOL. Replaced them with low profile head screws instead of the bolt headed originals. It is now nice and quiet in operation instead of sounding like a machine gun. ::)

Stripped the centre diff on the Kraton down today, after it was a bit raspy on hard acceleration and intermittent no drive.  The gears had dislodged, but seem pretty OK, so put it back together. Ever so slightly notchy, but I'll give it a go before replacing it.

This car has had a bad run, as the last 3 runs have ended in breakdown.  Admittedly the first of those was a broken shock after hitting a tree fairly quick ;D.  Last 2 have be diff issues.

Still, keeps me out of mischief.
Thats now the last 4 runs have ended premature after a heavy rasping noise when accelerating hard, and a distinct lack of wheelie popping.  Centre diff bolts had come loose, so no doubting if I did them up.

Will give it another blat tomorrow if the weather is kind, if it still wont hold up, guess I'll have to fit my spare, and buy a new set of internals to make a new spare :(

A quick test has left a load of 11's on my highly manicured lawn*, so I'm also in the doghouse.

The Dexta saw daylight for the first time in many tens of years in early September, this allowed us to check the moving bits, brakes, gears, etc.

With no1 son getting frowned upon for a little wheel spin and later application of the throttle. Brakes were so so, PTO seal was leaking and the mudguards are holey.

So back in the shed and strip down the rear.

New brake shoes and a good clean up and paint of the back plates:

Then some paint:

New wings ordered and arriving tomorrow.

Walked the dog & then trimmed the crab apple tree in our front garden with the assistance of our youngest grandson.

Cheers, Ronny. More likely caught it from a teacher, it's been rife up here.

Quite right too :y

You looking after her rather than the reason why. Obviously.

Hopefully she is past the worst of it and back on her feet soon :y

She'll be fine, back at work Monday, no doubt. She gets out of jail on Friday, I have to self isolate till Monday. I'll still be giving her a wide berth over the weekend, I'm pretty sure it doesn't just switch itself off after ten days.

That doesn't sound like a barrel of laughs, delighted to hear she's over the worse.

Stay safe.

Nothing is ever that simple, but sounds like good news ;)

And at least we'll have an actual perspective of what it's like...  :-X

She's relatively young, Jaime, and fit (Great North run, etc). I don't want it cause I'm old, and you don't want it cause you're fat  ;D
