Speedo Problems
« on: 25 August 2007, 15:13:38 »

Can any one shed some light please, I have a 2.5 Omega estate on the R plate, but the speedo is not working, it did last week for about 20 mile then gave up te ghost again.  I have had a new sender unit fitted to the gear box at a cost of £140 but this made no difference. :-/

Are your ABS and TC lights illuminated on the dash??

If so, its going to be either your rear near-side ABS sensor (but you said was replaced?) or the ABS module itself (sell your soul to satan to afford to replace/repair that...)

If it is the ABS module then BBA reman repair yours for about £125 inc vat and postage, and a garage should charge about 3hrs to replace. So not to bad.
If you have no other lights, suspect clock itself, i had to change mine for this reason.

Just a quick check(if no other lights) give the clocks a good shove in to make sure the push in multiplug is all the way home.

I can personally vouch for the service BBA-Reman offer .. they tested, confirmed the fault, and repaired my unit on a 5 day turnaround, from garage despatch to receipt (couriered monday unit couriered back friday).

All for £125 and a 2 year warranty ... excellent service IMHO
