mobile phone holder
« on: 24 September 2007, 15:03:38 »

i have a mobile phone holder which is not oem.it is for nokia phones i believe.my friend has tried his phone in the holder and when rung it cuts the radio out.the wiring disappears behind the control panel.does anybody have any idea if you need a different holder for each make of phone or if you can get a universal adapter.i don't really want to touch the wiring unless i have to.

I'm guessing that if it's a Nokia cradle you've either got a Cark-91 or a CK-7W car kit, You won't be able to use anything other than certain Nokia Handsets in the cradle, however, if you have the CK-7W kit (there'll be a little silver nokia button somewhere on the dash) you should be able to connect your phone via bluetooth.

definitely no silver button and i think it won't fit newer nokia handsets.probably safer to just leave it there.it's not really in the way.

Difficult to say what it is or isn't, if it's the old CARK-91 (For 5110, 6110, 7110, 6210, 6310) then you could convert it to bluetooth with this:-

If the CARK91 you can get an adapter which fit's into the cradle, which will accept any pop port Nokia phone.

My Omega has the CARK91, i purchased the cradle of ebay (£11 if i remember right) and my Nokia 6230i just pop's in, will of course take any "Nokia pop port" Phone.

If you want details or picture let me know  :y
