BOSE help please
« on: 08 October 2007, 19:46:26 »

Hi all.Ive just helped remove a bose speaker set and amp from a Elite my friend is breaking.
As i helped remove it he offered it to me for a very good price. the thing is we removed all the speakers the amp and the loome is it just a case of removing all the standerd speakers and loome from my elite then plug all back in to the loome in the drivers side foot well.
Just wondered before i took it on tomorrow after work any advise would be grand.
With thanks
Chris.

Unless the Alpine has line level out, it won't work (though I seem to recall bose isn't quite line level out)

from what I remember, bose head unit outputs at line level (0.7V) - most pre-outs on aftermarket head units run at 2 or 4V. So you'd need to wire up the pre-out to speaker connections as that's where the bose amp takes its' input from ...
