Title: ABS and TC Problem
Post by: DavidJ on 09 May 2015, 19:47:06
Hi, this is my first post on this site and would appreciate some advice as I am sure my problem has been aired on the site but I am not sure where to look.

I have a 1998 Omega Elite Saloon 2.5 V6 Polar Blue ( beautiful!) owned since new, 114,000 miles. Recently the ABS and TC lights have appeared after about 3 miles from starting. It now happens every time I go out. The steering sometimes feels affected sometime not. The Speedometer stops working. The garage has said the ABS unit is faulty. Probably correct but  could it be anything else that does not cost an arm and a leg to fix.

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

David

You will be better posting in the correct section, i.e Omega general help, this thread is for introducing yourself only.  :y

This will get moved to general help, but still, those are classic symptoms that the ABS ECU is faulty.

Hi, and welcome.
Mine is doing it too, and as said, more than likely ABS ECU. Doesn't look like a nice job either.

It's not difficult, but access is very poor which makes it awkward. And your hands look like you've been wresting tigers when you finish.
