Had to print off stuff to then copy it back into lap top to add it to an email to get my housing benefit, like all these things they have now gone fully digital. Trouble is I had to buy a new ink cartridge as so long since I used it that it had dried up, bloody £20 as well. Thats half a weeks food shop---------

Talking of sitting on things, I half heartedly checked to see what DJI Mavic Minis were going for on egay, as mine hasn't been powered up since June 2022.
Looks like the ceiling price for the Fly More ones is around £170 - plenty more for sale at higher prices, but they aren't selling. Whilst £170 minus about £15 in postage is more use than it sitting on the shelf, you just know ebay is going to be a whole load of hassle with that type of item, and the type of buyer it will attract. I think I'd rather give it away to somebody wanting to have a go before spending shed loads of cash on such things rather than lose money with ebay's policies.

Neither of which will work during a power cut. Doesn't matter if these devices have battery backup - the BT side of things does not.
if BT have a power cut ,it's unlikely to be on the same grid
GSM based devices (with a sim card) are also available ,
but, unless you live out in Rural areas, landlines are pretty reliable ,not that many people use them anymore

I joined the local authority-backed scheme and, since early this year, I have FTTP with OpenInfra, a Swedish Company. Before that, I was with BT.
Now, here's the strange thing. I have been waiting for OpenInfra to bill me, so I could stop the BT contract, but they haven't. I phoned them and they said, we're not due to bill you until July 24. Well, I said, who is providing me with broadband now? They checked and said "It's us – we'll cut you off". I said, "No, just bill me". "OK", they said.
Nothing heard since....
